  • Pool Assessment (Option #1)

    Pool and Ocean Assessments

    To ensure the safety and confidence of our Nippers, all children must undergo both pool and ocean Evaluations before the season starts. This will assess their swimming skills and ability to handle all surf conditions.

    • Pool Pre Lim Skills Evaluation This is usually conducted at the beginning of the season. It involves a set distance swim appropriate for each age group, ensuring that each child can swim a basic distance comfortably within a set time by NSWSLS.

  • All Ages Board Camp

    Hat Head Holiday Park, Straight Street, Hat Head NSW 2440, Australia

    Board camp is a great weekend for kids of any age group to learn or further develop their board skills and get to know each other at the start of the season.
    Plus, the whole family can enjoy a talent show by the kids (and big kids) run by our under 14s on the Saturday night.

    Camp at Hat Head Holiday Park, or stay at an Air BnB across the river!

    Saturday Sign on time is 8:30am for a 9am start on Hat Head beach
    * The day is full of activities (including ocean competency swims) followed by a talent show after dark.
    * All Ages Beach Relay
    * Melinda Cockshutt is running a Bronze & Water Safety Proficiency:
    - 12pm Wet run-swim-run / rescue
    - 4:30pm CPR / signals

    What to bring:
    * Shade, sunscreen, hats, umbrellas, pink singlets and caps, plus boards if you can
    * Any dress ups for skits/talent show at night
    * Chafe cream
    * Snacks and a picnic lunch
    *(We’ll have a sausage sizzle for the kids and volunteers, so parents please bring a picnic lunch)

    We’ll need volunteers to:
    * Pack trailer at 4pm Wednesday
    * Cut fruit and help BBQ
    * Help set up/pack down equipment on the beach
    * Help Age Managers with admin
    * Water Safety
    * Participate in the talent show - the bar was set last year with giant teletubbies so see if you can improve on that!
    * Unpack trailer back in Port

    There is no normal Sunday nippers, enjoy the Sunday sleep-in!
